Localization
Localization is the process by which a body of written communication is
transformed from the source language to the target language. Above and beyond
mere translation from one combination of words to another, localization takes
care of the entire picture. In every detail-from connotation to nuance, from
slang to idiom, from cultural sensitivities to cultural preferences-the
localization process makes the piece seem as though it were originally created
in the target language and target culture. This can also include details like
adapting shortcut keys in computer programs as well as using the proper symbols
for currency. At TCA, we are so highly focused on excellence, we always use
native speakers to achieve our end results.
